When you think of a supergroup many people don't think of boygenius yet but soon enough they will. super groups are usually coined by there popularity and being personal favorites of certain individuals and genres. In 2018, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker released a self-titled six-song EP as boygenius that felt a bit like a tease. Here lies three of indie’s brightest, most charismatic artists at their most productive. Since then, each has released chart topping albums.

The group has a strong commitment towards in each other in creating awesome music. They all realize that they are on the same wavelength and act as if they have been doing music together for a while. boygenius went hard this time around and got those most premier talent to be apart of this project. From Kirsten Stewart directing three of their music videos on this project to Illuminati Hotties’ Sarah Tudzin as engineer, and Catherine Marks on co-production.

This project is appealing because the whole project is like an essay that is verbally constructed. There is a high division of romance and friendship deploys all the way through as well as unity mostly. It’s nearly impossible for a collaboration like this to not feel depreciated. If three established artists excelling at what they are great at, together, without sacrificing a single bit of themselves, were so easy to do, more would try. I like all of the tunes on here but my favorite are the $20 & Cool About It.
